Michael Brennan and the East Clare Brigade at the Glenwood Ambush

The Volunteer movement in east County Clare was dominated by the three Brennan brothers, Paddy, Austin, and Michael. Michael, the youngest, would lead the east Clare flying column in an ambush of the RIC at Glenwood on January 20, 1921.
