'The Wake' - #1 in Historical Irish Fiction

I've just had the pleasure of seeing my novel, The Wake (And What Jeremiah Did Next), reach #1 Best Seller status in Irish Historical Fiction on Amazon. And the news has given me exactly what I need to work harder on the new novel I'm currently writing.

As you well know, the whole creative process can be very lonely at times and there are some days when all I can see in front of me for hours on end is a blank screen. But now I have another lease of imagination (sometimes called a kick in the pants!) and I'll be raring to go come the morning.

Seeing that #1 has done me all the good in the world.

Cheers,
Colm

Well done Colm. It is not an easy road.

Thanks Kevin! I've been reading about you. There used to be a pub in Carndonagh called Mary Rose's. Mary Rose allowed after-hours drinking and, because of her fear of prowling guards, had two heavies bar the door to stop drinkers leaving and drawing attention to her pub. Made a change from the Don Bar in Derry where we were turfed out 10 minutes after last drinks.

Nicely done Colm. I'll have to look yours over. Strangely enough, I just finished a wonderful historical novel about the Irish in Brooklyn that's set during WWI. Have you seen it, it's called Exile on Bridge Street.
