How do I put into words how I feel about Ireland. It is a part of my heart and soul. I grew up a foster kid and did not really know my family. I did know my family came from Ireland. It was always my dream to come to Ireland and in 2010 my son took me there. I watched as the plan began to land in Shannon. That beautiful patchwork of green took my breath away. When I finally stepped on the Irish soil, I had a feeling that just told me I had come home. My son took me on a road trip I will never forget. From Shannon to Sligo I saw the most breath taking views. It was just plain amazing. I just turned 76 and it is my hope to return to my beautiful Ireland.

Hi Vicky, beautiful photo, where was it taken? I'm delighted you had a wonderful trip to Ireland and hopefully you will get back again. My husband has distant cousins called Peters, I think either in NY or Boston.
Take care
Shauna
Hi Shauna and Angela, The picture was taken on the Cliffs of Mohr. I was in the middle of a field of heather. I do have an awesome son. He sure made my dream come true.
Today as I watch my American flag flutter in the breeze. I wonder what my Great Great Grandfather thought as he crossed the wide Atlantic. What would he think of each generation as we grew here in his new country. I think he would be very proud. As I traveled Ireland and experience the beautiful countryside and talked to so many wonderful people I thought he surely must have missed his home. I know it is not my grandfathers Ireland any more but I could feel it so deep down in my very soul. I have come home.
