The face of long trail friendship...

These gentle ladies remind me of my Irish aunties.  Those Power (The Dundalk Powers) women were both fierce and gentle.  Great story tellers and they  never missed a beat with us, the "younger generation!"  Many a time I hid behind the sofa so that I could hear the real back story. Let me tell you, these women were no angels.  They were loving and kind and, they spared nobody if they had it coming to them!  Magnanimous when it came to social justice and giving to all good causes. Fierce when it came to defending their own...and that included all of us youngsters!  Even the Little Sister of "No Mercy" did not stand a chance against their truth to power!

Wow! I was raised with aunts like this. Mother had five sisters, strong, bright and committed women who continue to live in my heart.
