Kevin, welcome to The Wild Geese. I'm delighted to have a family member join our growing extended Irish family here, particularly one with wartime service in the legendary "Fighting 69th." Do join us over at Blue, Gray and Green Group, as well, where we explore the Irish experience during America's Civil War. I know this to be an interest of yours, since your school paper on Antietam many moons ago.
Welcome to the Wild Geese Kevin! It's a great place I'm sure you'll enjoy! There's usually something interesting going on so let's see you jump right in!
Not yet a connoisseur, but that's the goal! Santa must have been on the same page this year as I received a bottle of Red Breast as well! My next objective is to secure a bottle of The Wild Geese Soldiers and Heroes Irish Whiskey!
I will add my welcome to those before... along with a very large helping of "Go raibh mile maith agat"...many thanks...for your service.... Any family of Ger's is family of ours...
I'll look forward to helping you in your Whiskey education... ;-)
Kevin, Welcome to the Wild Geese. If the Garden City Library is convenient for you, come to one of our meetings. Our February 12 meeting is listed in Events on thewildgeese.com. Also check us out at irish-society.org. Say hello and be rewarded with a welcoming hug. Stay well. John Walsh
Hi Kevin, welcome to THG! Ger has been instrumental in making me, a non-Irish foreigner from South Africa welcome to the 'family'. Once you feel comfortable, I'm sure you're going to enjoy this fascinating, participative website just as much as I eagerly anticipate hearing of your experiences and seeing any pics you may wish to share - especially of the 'wee little Kevin' through to your service in the "Fighting 69th" and beyond.
