Please use this thread to introduce yourself to your fellow Wild Geese. In particular, we would love to hear your Irish story. What are your ties to Ireland? Have you or are you in the midst of uncovering your genealogy? What are your particular Irish interests? The arts? Cooking? Literature? Travel?
Please tell us also about yourself. What are your occupations and hobbies? What are your goals and ambitions? Where are you from?
And finally we would love to hear what brought you to The Wild Geese and how can we help you uncover, share, and preserve your Irish Story!
Hi everyone! I'm a filmmaker from Ireland. I've just released my first short online and thought this would be a good place to share it. I was very lucky to pick up Best Short at Dingle Film Festival in 2016 and since then it has gone on to screen in many more festivals including Budapest Short Film Festival and Istanbul Short Film Festival.
The film was shot in my home town of Rostrevor Co. Down and takes place in the surrounding Mourne Mountains. I had friends I met in London help out on the film whom where from many parts of the world including Switzerland, Bulgaria, Iran, Czech Republic and Tawain and it was a great experience to invite them over to Ireland, many whom have been back since.
The film follows a lonely deformed creature who seeks acceptance from the locals, but is shunned. One night he comes to the rescue of some of the locals, but will this be enough to be accepted? Would love to know your thoughts, if you enjoyed it please feel free to share it. Below you can watch it via facebook. It is also available on Youtube, Vimeo and Amazon.
Welcome Rik! Can't wait to check this out.
