DESCRIPTION:ZorroFest 2013 will be a celebration of the life of 17th-c
 entury Wexfordian William Lamport (Guillèn de Lombardo), the \"Irish 
 Zorro\", and the many links between Ireland and Mexico.\n\nIt will inc
 lude a performance by the Mariachi Band San Patricio alongside traditi
 onal Mexican dancers (baile folklórico), a concert of Spanish Classic
 al Guitar music, a Mexican-inspired parade by Buí Bolg, lectures, a p
 hotography exhibition, children's workshops, Mexican food, and much mo
 re.\n\nAs a Mexican living in Ireland, Karla (the organiser, my wife) 
 could not give more credit to the extraordinary life of William Lampor
 t. Who would have ever imagined that an Irish adventurer and poet woul
 d be so influential in Mexican history?\n\nHis avant-garde ideas and t
 exts set the basis for what was to become an independent nation 2 cent
 uries after Lamport's death.\n\nDid you know there is a statue dedicat
 ed to Mr. Lamport (Guillén de Lombardo) at the base of one of Mexico'
 s most important monuments in Mexico City: La Columna de Independencia
 ?\n\nHis life and adventures were arguably one of the strongest inspir
 ations for the story of Zorro.\nThis May Bank Holiday come join Wexfor
