SUMMARY:Hang-Out in The Virtual Síbín with Singer Mary Courtney
DESCRIPTION:Our next community hangout in The Wild Geese Virtual SíbÃ
n will take place on Monday, December 23rd at 5:00 p.m. Eastern (U.S.
) Time.  We'll be joined by special musical guest (and fellow Wild Ge
ese member), Mary Courtney. \nMary is a native of County Kerry.   Sh
e grew up in a musical family in the parish of Castlegregory near the
sea, a likely beginning for this remarkable singer and guitarist. Whet
her accompanying herself, or holding the rhythm line with her trad ban
d, Morning Star, she is a consummate musician. Her music is an engagin
g collaboration of traditional Irish music and a progressive social co
nscience born of a political education in the United States. Her bodhr
án playing offers another dimension to her exceptional performance. C
ourtney has used her music to spread Irish culture and to educate her
audience about the struggles of the Irish people. From rock ‘n’ ro
ll to the ethereal strains of some ancient Celtic bard, Mary can sing
anything, and sing it unforgettably.\n\nOur live broadcasts from The W
ild Geese Virtual Síbín give us all an opportunity to interact and l
earn from some of the \"movers and shakers\" in the worldwide Irish co
mmunity.  Mary will be sing a few songs for us, and she'll also be te
lling us about her Christmases as she grew up in County Kerry.   We e
ncourage our members to use the live chat function here on the site to
submit questions, comments, and requests during the live hangout in t
he Síbín.\n\nYou may visit Mary's official website, www.MaryCourtney
Music.com, to learn more about Mary herself and her music.\n\nWe look
forward to hanging with you in The Wild Geese Virtual Síbín this Mon
day!\nFor now, please enjoy these two videos:\n \n\n\n\nFor more info
