SUMMARY:Celtic Tales storytelling sessions - 10th season begins May 4t
 h, Galway
DESCRIPTION:The tenth season of the stunning Celtic Tales storytelling
sessionsbegins in the Crane Bar, Sea Rd, Galway on Thursday May 4th.
As always I'll be having great fun reimagining of the myths, folklor
e and urban legends of Ireland and Scotland. For this tenth year, I w
ill also be telling a whole new bunch of tales of sorrow, horror and
comedy. Ilove all these stories. They are weird and wonderful, but no
matterhow strange or scary they get there is always a little bit of co
mmonsense somewhere in them. One of the new stories from Renvyle combi
nes a gruesome tale of a severed head with marriage guidance advice.C
eltic Tales begins 4th May. Price 10 euro / 8 Euro concession. Every
show is followed by a free Trad music session.Contact:  Rab at 083

essions I am collaborating on a newchildren’s folk tales book with i
llustrator Marina Wild. And I've recently finished running a three mo
nth course on Storytelling andSocial Inclusion in NUI Galway. This inv
olved teaching second yearstudents the skills of storytelling as well
as the importance of usingstorytelling as a medium for creatively chal
lenging exclusion andopening up space for a diversity of voices to eng
age, create, collaborate and grow. The students then headed out to Scoi
l Bhride and Scoil Croi Iosa where they had a lot of fun collaboratin
g withchildren to create new tales of wonder. It was exhausting but gre
at fun. There were so many incredible stories created over the three
months by the students and the children. But one of the most inspirin
g part of the course was the swapping and collecting of memories from
friends and family. That called for a lot of trust, respect and crea
tivity – it was wonderful to see the students and children really g
etting into that.It is this energy, creativity and respect for storyte
lling that Iendeavour to bring to the Celtic Tales sessions. I aim to
make everysession a unique experience that will leave people awestruck
. Thesessions are a great way to celebrate the huge range and diversit
y ofthe story heritage of Ireland and Scotland.https://www.youtube.com
