 e are recruiting for Volunteer Elves! In 2012 The New York Irish Cente
 r along with the Irish Day of Action Committee Volunteers met a more s
 easonal type of need, to some of the worst affected areas in the Rockw
 ays after Hurricane Sandy, by making and delivering over 600 shoeboxes
  to children and families that were severely displaced. This magical e
 ffort has continued every year since because there is still a need for
  it. When the New York Irish Center re-opened its Shoe Box Factory com
 plete with volunteer elves and made another 500 Shoe Box Gifts that we
 re delivered to the Rockaways and distributed by “Homes for Humanity
 ” to children in need.  In 2015 we will continue this seasonal relie
 f effort by reopening our Shoebox Factory and bring a little joy to th
 ose in need of it most during the holidays. So this is your chance to 
 become one of our valued Shoe Box Factory Elves for the day and bring 
 much needed seaonsal relief to families still feeling the hardship thr
 ee years on from Hurricane Sandy.  Please join us for a day of joyous,
