Nice to see you here, Mike. I'm sure there are many folks here who would love to hear some of the stories you've uncovered with your Civil War and Fenian Brotherhood research.

Mike, it is grand to see your name listed here. We are thankful.
Mike, thank you for all of your efforts regarding the history of Thomas H O'Brien of the 88th New York in America's Civil War.... may your well of knowledge never run dry, you have inspired me on many occasions.
Mike great articles on 69th PA. I have been trying for along time to find details of their state color, ever since I got the two volumes on the Pennsylvania Civil War Flags. It is interesting that in the film Gettysburg how they hide the Green Flag behind the Stars & Stripes, so you can't see its the 69thNy or28thMass flag. It is also on the right instead of the national flag.I see from Troiani's picture he has the national flag on the wrong side. Is this copied from the film or did that actually happen? Again thanks for these articles, and to know that an Ulsterman was their colour bearer.
Bill Rose who was the head of the 69th reenactors told me he had a "tif" with an associate director about his limited use of the 69th. There was another reenactor group who had friends on the movie's set and the Hollywood boys used them much more than Bill Rose's 69th. If you see the movie and notice the Regimental flag (stars and stripes) Bill Rose portrayed Color Sergeant Michael Brady.
