really love your site and love interacting with authors, so I was very aware this was coming up. For some reason, I couldn't get on with everyone on my Mac at work, so I had to use my PC. Enjoyed the discussion.
Thank you Tiffany.. It is 1 of a series of 15 I created last year for Dún a Rí forest park in Kingscourt county Cavan. I work exclusively with Irish wood and Irish History and heritage are my main influences.

Ty, Tiffany. :) I'm hoping u can help me. My ma was born in 1897. Her father was a sea captain, guessing he was born in the 40s or 50s. I wonder could you tell me what ship companies existed in that period or direct me to search. My ma was from Milford/Ramelton, Co. Donegal. She said that he was lost at sea. Her sister said that he deserted the family. I'd like to find out what really happened. His name was John Hamill. I'd appreciate if you could direct me in the right direction. :)

Pete Hamill is a well-known journalist and author living in New York City. His parents emigrated from Belfast, perhaps before Pete was born. Perhaps Pete can offer some suggestions, as well as Gerry Cappa, a fellow member living near Belfast. Let me know if you have trouble reaching Gerry via his own profile.

Well thank you, Tiffany! My Irish story is only that I am of Irish descent, and just cannot wait until I can afford a trip to Ireland. I have always felt that I will be "home" when I get there. Someday...

Hello there. Thank you for the lovely welcome.
I just heard about your forum today from Rob Mullally - he said I should join up so I'm looking forward to checking it out properly.
I moved to San Diego 4 years ago from Dublin so I'm still very Irish :)
