The Irish Workshop Trots its Stuff at the Dublin Horse Show

Calling all horse enthusiasts:

The Irish Workshop had the honor of attending the 2016 Dublin Horse Show, and we must say we were absolutely tickled pink with the experience!

We made sure that our stand was chock-full of handmade Irish products, and we spent the whole five days of the Dublin Horse show promoting Irish craft, talking to fellow craft-enthusiasts, and generally spreading the word about what we do.

We loved meeting some of our customers face-to-face, and we were enthused to see the interest that people had in our philosophy.

Of course, since our website boasts the work of over 85 makers (pointed out in our last blog post here), it would be pretty much impossible to include every maker in our stand.  Therefore, we chose to highlight the work of five of our illustrious makers to represent The Irish Workshop and what it stands for.  Here, let us introduce you to them:

Kathy Mooney of Pottery by Kathy

Kathy is a charming ceramics artist from County Dublin who specializes in adorable animal creations.

Anne McConnell of Áine Knitwear

Anne melds old and new textile techniques to form a unique and contemporary style of knitwear that is worn equally well in her native County Clare as it is on the streets of New York City.

Orla Walsh of Orla Walsh Artist

Orla uses iconic Irish branding to paint colorful and distinctive portraits in a pop-art style from her studio in Dublin.

Karen Lavelle of Soilse Candle Company

Karen uses her travels through the Irish countryside as inspiration when creating her nostalgic scents from County Meath.

Tracy Gilbert of Tracy Gilbert Designs

Tracy is a Dublin-based jewellery designer who uses her passion for Irish language, legend, and culture as inspiration for her pieces.

These makers had a big job to do in representing The Irish Workshop, and their work did not disappoint!  We even sold out of Kathy Mooney's lovely foxes, which was a great marker of our horse show success.  In short, we're delighted to have had such a great time, and it only makes us more excited to continue on this gratifying journey with the support of all of our fellow craft-lovers.
